Ain’t no way you heard the whole album and none of the hooks. Almost every song has a hook.
#FreshReviewAlert 🔽👇👇 Album Review: Keep Holly Alive - Mutant Academy @Mutant_Academy This has been a great year for hip-hop probably the best one in years. With so many great rap albums that have dropped this year, it would be fitting to see a talented group like Mutant Academy throw their hat into the ring. Founded by Fly Anakin along with Henny L.O and consisting of other core members Koncept Jack$on, Big Kahuna OG as well as in-house producers Graymatter, Tuamie, Sycho Sid, Ewonee, Unlucky Bastards, Foisey and OhBliv who help contribute to the group as well. This hip-hop collective debuts with their first studio album Keep Holly Alive. I love that the fact this album feels like a bunch of freestyle cyphers and everyone is basically just having fun battle to see who can out-rap each other. The thing I noticed is that no song had a hook but just straight to the rapping. It’s not a concept album and that’s what I like about it just a pure rap album with very talented rappers and producers showcasing their talents and chemistry with each other. Production was great having that East Coast feel to it with every song incorporating a sample of some sort that was very smooth and had a person like me bobbing my head. Also the incorporation of drums and loops that aren’t overdone. Each individual floated perfectly and delivery from all four was nothing short of amazing. Lyrically this album delivered that and just goes so well with the production that was created. Like said every song sounded like a fun cypher with Pure bars and flows that makes this album what it is. Overall this is one of the best rap albums put out this year and everyone is unique in their own way. Mutant Academy without a single doubt is the best rap group out right now and this album here shows that they here to stay for a long time. Their chemistry is very good and hopefully, they can continue to grow more as a collective and deliver us some music that can further them as a group that can be remembered. Favorite Tracks: Favoritism, Space Time Continuum, Starightback Santiago, Paranoid, Rock/Paper/Scissors, Too Accessible, Fat On My Side, Start Praying Album Rating: 8.7/10 Reviewed By: @MalikTheVillain
