The actual truth is SPL-404, now known as MPL-404, was crafted by a team of passionate NFT founders/builders at Mutant Labs. At our core, we are enthusiasts devoted to the art and potential of NFTs. It is not about creating a new shiny thing in hopes to gather attention, its about fortifying the NFT ecosystem with long-term sustainability. The truth is that 404 nfts were created as a result of the success of the most recent new shiny thing: memecoins. If a project changes their whole structure every time there is a new shiny trend, know that when the trend dies (and it will die), so will your project’s success and its holders faith (at least temporarily). So this creates a new dependency in which you always need to chase new shiny trends and utilities to please others and stay relevant, losing your identity and faithful supporters while doing so. You also sacrifice stability and your holder’s long term-vision. Once a new trend dies in the short-run, projects rarely adapt fast enough to counter the lack of demand, so your holders suffer from the volatility of the big pumps and dumps. Let me make something clear. No matter how many new shiny trends come out in web3, The Love Meta will stay the same. We don’t chase trends, we stay rooted to life and remind all beings of the ancient meta which is and has always been love. Spiritually, I know where chasing new trends and new shiny things takes you. Specially, when the chasing is done to leave a good impression on other people. We shall stay true to ourselves no matter how many obstacles we encounter.
