Happy #FossilFriday! Which came first: the #chicken or the #egg? The fossil record of amniote eggs extends back 190 million years. These large #fossil eggs (#MOR770) were laid by a #duckbilled #dinosaur ~76mya in what is now #Montana. That’s long before the first chicken clucked!

Make a wish this #FossilFriday! In fact, make two! This is the #furcula (‘wishbone’) of the #Tyrannosaurus ‘B-Rex’ (#MOR1125) being held next to that of Montana’s T. rex (#MOR980) at #MOR! While we may think of the wishbone as a bird feature, it evolved first in their ancestors.
