This week's #WeeDaunderDoonMemoryLane takes us aaaaall the way back to the early 1900s, when these ladies worked at Clow's garment factory (formerly the UF church). It's a great record to have as part of our archive!

This week's #WeeDaunderDoonMemoryLane takes us all the way back to 1937, with the local kids all dressed up to represent the King, the Queen and the Empire for the coronation of George VI. The whole village was decked out in bunting with parades and fancy dress to celebrate!

We're not sure when (or exactly where!) this pic was taken, but we love that Abernethy used to celebrate Burns Night with a proper #BurnsSupper in days gone by!

We're still having a think about some of the shops that used to be in Abernethy - this week, it's the Corner Shop, all decked out for (we think) the coronation of George VI. One of the longest-open shops in Abernethy, it's now a private residence.

@begynnynge A lot of it is the stuff of legend, but the general consensus is that it was some sort of watch tower to allow the local monks to keep an eye out for raiders and invaders. It's one of only 2 round towers in Scotland; there are a lot more in Ireland!
