More on our Elk Alert: Thanks to Mike Fletcher who shares this photo of the elk herd seen near NW Cornelius Pass Rd. He reports that the herd's lead cow was killed in a collision near Corn Pass and Old Corn Pass Rd last week, which could explain the random movements this week.

Transportation Road Maintenance are working hard to plow snow accumulation and sanding any slippery areas including hills, corners, curves and intersections throughout this severe weather. The County largely serves rural roads and some arterials.
Traffic Alerts: Heavy rains & winds have impacted several Multnomah County roads today. In west hills, Thompson Rd. is closed due to high water from Cornell to 53rd. In east county, Oxbow Dr. is closed westbound only from 322nd to Division due to a downed tree in power lines.

After three months of construction, Multnomah County has successfully paved and repaired seven miles of E. Larch Mountain Road. The road is now open until its regularly scheduled snow closure this winter.

Alert: Upper Larch Mountain Road in the Columbia River Gorge closes for the winter today at 9 am. This is a seasonal closure near Milepost 10 to reduce the cost of snow removal. The road will reopen to the summit at Sherrard Point in late spring 2020.
