@bozoid I'm talking multiplatform games, but across the board the standard MSRP for a AAA game on PS360 was $60 while Wii's exclusives were $50.

@bozoid DVDs have lower msrp than Blu-rays. Wii games had lower msrp than PS360 games. If the innards are all that matter, then these reviewers should lead with "We found the game structure to be vastly superior to the aimless sandboxes that plague Quest."

@exrayspec I just thought you were referring to XB X/S, suggesting there were only 2M active Quest players.

@VRCatalans They might not have capitalized on recurring IAP's, but they appear to still be selling thousand of units a week, which translates to millions in annual revenue, by my estimates.

Hearing the quotes straight from his mouth, it's clear this wasn't some objective truth as it reads in text headlines. It was his baby, and they all kept telling themselves it was going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. And critically, it could have been. But commercially? That's the REAL reason we're all here, is to see VR sell well, not just get star ratings. Commercially, his sensibilities are evident when he describes Echo Arena's "tens of thousands" of MAU's as "a lot." In reality, the most popular F2P VR games have MILLIONS of MAU's.
Echo VR studio Ready at Dawn was working on one of the "most revolutionary VR games ever" before Meta closed it. Co-founder, Andrea Pessino says it was "coming along beautifully." He also says it was a "mistake" for Meta to abandon PC VR.

The more I think about it, the more it makes sense to boot mobile app users straight into Horizon Worlds. From there, if you have questions, just throw a rock and it will hit an 8 year old who can explain the entire metaverse to you.
I spy... The landing page for Meta's devices. Can't see a single purchasable game anywhere. Then, there's Steam and PlayStation... Meta, we need to feed our VR developers!!! ๐

@pvncher It'll be both a strain on your neck AND on the battery, especially in MR passthrough. Thankfully a battery strap solves both problems

@Crocidolite11 @golfplusvr The center of your ball looks like it was on the green dude. Check out this real life putt where the center of the bottom of the ball was a good quarter inch into the hole and it STILL came out.

@GamecatTiger @JPMinetos GT does benefit the ecosystem, it's just not YOUR PREFERRED ecosystem.

While the younger VR audience continues to be marginalized by gamers and even devs, it's such a relief to see a struggling publisher pivoting to them. New Folder Games has had multiple titles living in the top 5 sellers on Quest thanks to a similar strategy.
nDreams opens new VR studio after shuttering two others. The 40-person team intends to target the "growing audience of young VR natives" by rapidly prototyping games while learning from data and communities.

@GamecatTiger @JPMinetos You bash f2p games but GT has made over $100M. What have Metro, Behemoth and Alien made? Probably <$10M.

@GamecatTiger @JPMinetos Because they don't NEED one to enjoy the games they like. This also gives Meta more time to break even on the loss they took 2-3 years ago to put a Q2 in their hands. Meta should only want ppl to upgrade if they'll spend $100+ on games and/or will embrace Q3 excl games/funct.
