I can confirm it happens in india experienced it in nov 1993 at COMMAND hospital airport ROAD BANGALORE. DR. CHELLARANI (now retired as vice adm IAF medical corps) slapped me in middle of labor N said "now ur screaming in pain,why din't stop ur husband when he was making love?".
What a horrible thing to do, aren't there any female nurses or doctors around to stop this atrocity? Seems extremely odd especially in maternity departments. Terrible if this happens in India.
