My 5th graders timed each other crab-walking different distances and used the data to compare ratios. They came up with 3 different ways of comparing two speeds without help 🤩 I’m equally as proud of their crab-walking, which was way better than mine! @Riverview_ES

As someone who teaches the customary system of measurement to confused students every year (especially when they see how easy the metric system is) - this is gold.

This morning was our first just-for-fun staff book club organized by our librarian and then I came back to this surprise from my hallmate (we share food when either of us have leftovers) - the best way to start a Friday! Grateful to start another year at @Riverview_ES 🥰

2 years later, these students are now FIFTH graders in my class and we accidentally matched again! Time is a thief 🥹

We have been working on challenging our students here @Riverview_ES. We knew adding and subtracting within 10 on the number line would be too easy for many of @Miss_Weissbcps’s first graders, so half of them got this challenge! My math heart is happy ❤️

Our Advanced 4 math teacher @Miss__Berry agreed to come teach a mini-lesson to my Advanced 5 students during her lunch so she could help them remember what they learned last year and connect it to this year’s content… our @Riverview_ES teachers are the best! Thank you Carly 💙
