Started the morning by getting into the Valentines spirit by using @microbit_edu to code a heart beat and a message to a friend! We will use loops and variables to continue to build on this until Valentine’s Day. @weteachcs

We’re getting the hang of script coding…It has definitely been a challenge, but I’m soo impressed with how much they have grown! They are now debugging codes all on their own 🥹Thank you @SK4DL for bringing @BotballRobotics to Alief.

From designing holiday ornaments in @tinkercad to making pixel posters using conditional coding, these Mavericks got creative with their gift giving. Happy holidays to the wonderful students that show up every morning at 7 a.m. ready to work. Can’t wait to see you in 2025!!

This week my advanced coders moved from block to script coding, using C++ w/@BotballRobotics. This pushed me outside of my comfort zone, but why limit them? Let’s just say…it was a success & we all learned a lot! They typed every line & debugged the codes until we got it right!

In honor of National Computer Science Week, all of our @MillerMavsAISD students got to participate in an #HourOfCode. I taught lessons that included @Sphero, @WonderWorkshop (Dash & Cue), and @tinkercad. I hope each one of our Mavs learned something new about coding this week!

Last night, was a definitely an Alief U Holiday to remember. Teachers across the district had the opportunity to explore meaningful work and meaningful relationships through engaging challenges! Thank you @AISDProfDev for providing this opportunity!

This was our first independent challenge in @tinkercad and I’m impressed. No template, no help, just all basic shapes. The goal was to design either a Thanksgiving scene or a Winter wonderland.

Thankful for the creative coding and robotics kids, I get to work with daily!! This week we spent some time coding our Miller Thanksgiving parade floats using @Sphero bolt, cups courtesy of @Starbucks, and a lot of creativity!!

Worked with my coding students on a new @Sphero challenge, facilitated a session on computer science & computational thinking with the @MillerMavsAISD Launch CS cohort @weteachcs, & presented “Appy Hour” to the parents for FAME week, ALL before lunch duty!! Feeling accomplished✅
