It is very hard to explain the impact of students on teachers. We often hide how much they mean to us. Graduation is a reminder of the finite time we have with our kids.

No one has signed more autographs, posed for more photos, or drawn more high-pitched shrieks when he’s on the ball. 🏆 14 goals, 20 assists all-time 🔥 5 goals in National & Illinois State Cups 🥉 3rd in league’s Golden Boot race in ’22 But Lysik’s greatness isn’t gifted. He meets every 5 am sunrise with sweat and sacrifice – because legends aren’t built in-season, they’re built before it, one early morning at a time. Beyond the pitch, Jake is shaping the next generation—coaching Plainfield East’s varsity boys and young players at his boyhood club, Legacy SC in New Lenox. He’s more than a player. He’s Steel City. And in 2025, he’s back for more.

@coachdeesmith Lifting on game days isn’t the problem. Often who is running the lift doesn’t take into consideration what the athletes outside their program are doing. It is possible, and should be standard, that in season lifters are on a different program. Most coaches aren’t doing that.
