Look at today's kids. They mock Allah and Muhammad without hesitation. Many of them talk in English, while Islam books are in Dhivehi. They are all on the internet filled with content that can make them question Islam. They are young and more open-minded. Change is inevitable.

Living as an Ex-Muslim in Maldives isn't too hard. Its socially acceptable to not pray, listen to music and do some other haram things like that. Ramadan is easily tolerable. I like the food.
The hard part is living as a homosexual. Not being able to look for love.

Some of my closest friends are people who pray, make dua regularly, and always have religion on their minds.
They know I'm gay, Ex-Muslim and a secularist. But we're still close. Co-existence can work if you can just live and let live. It's not that difficult.

One thing I have noticed is that even though MvTwitter seems so anti-LGBT, real-life peers are quite tolerant of LGBT people. It's always hard to hate on people you already care about. This is why it's important to come out to people who are close to you even if its a little bit.
