@I_Am_GKennedy Personally found Sama' brave x post more impactful, about this being Google's to lose - than anything Google could have proactively said in ads. Because the tech war is on, it seems.

@Hilbe Pretty cool that for $3950 they bundle in some extras too with the shield. With the optional $650 speaker upgrade + $1500 powered tonneau cover upgrade, costs adds quickly.

The challenge is as soon as you start to further price segment for O1 / O3 Pro from O1, you make it easier for other people to craft alternatives to it. By that stage you basically have lost the value proposition. Keep in mind recently their position was they weren't making money at $200. If they're able to somehow stick at $200 / halo range / it means they've stayed ahead of others for the power users; but if they've given up with a halfway option, they are starting to accept the limited value proposition & recognise competition. Surely of what they'd offer, in the future, it would only get more expensive - solutions start to blur the line between reality and computer outputs. Their goal surely is to get the $20 guy to $200. Before their ability to even charge $79 to $149 dollars gets compromised. Basically sooner people normalize 200 as okay, that will be the platform to build on.

@koltregaskes @OpenAI I can see why some might argue they're more likely to add the $2K pm option first, then to add any intermediary.

Think his requirement for aesthetic good enough / perfection is probably a higher bar than most people's, would imagine that most might accepts functional utility & comfort over pure aesthetic appreciation (trading off comfort for aesthetic or philosophical purity). Curious. Does anyone know if SJ slowly added furniture? 😂 And what was the timeline, e.g. when he met the significant other?

If it's a standard-spec test showing a like-for-like comparison with other SUVs, sure. Good to watch. 👍 If Tesla doesn't intend for CT to get it to agencies for standard crash testing (until mandated, at some time far far from now), or if it's footage from a non-standard speed/test, probably not release it. It'll just fuel the perception of running a proprietary in-house tests, that may differ to agencies approaches & fuels the "no crumple zone" chats. If it's released, imagine there'll be fresh interest from us agencies to want to reverify anyway - by purchasing it and testing it in their standard tests. Some question might be, if the door can be easily pushed open. If Tesla were a typical company, they'd likely wait until mandated for an official crash test.

@wmorrill3 Might the surface material be HFS? Or does that have to much rush risks? E.g. fallback to aluminum or coated steel?

@Hilbe Fascinating. Didn't realise how much more costly a full power launch was vs normal launch. 😅

@Out_of_Spec @ionnaofficial @notisaiahlouis So this is the not-Tesla charging network in the US, to hedge against Tesla from turning Superchargers into a profit centre for non Tesla cars? Seems sensible.

@uncledoomer Delivery truck self-identifying as bike. 😂🤣 Seems ingenious but it also seems like ALOT of engineering for a loophole that nyc could close very quickly.

@BrentM_SpaceX Curious. Is the energy storage's primarily benefits for smoothing (powering up spikes), or managing/alleviating stress on the local grid at peak hours, or resilience; or eventually enabling storage of renewable solar energy in the day in the future?

@mSanterre Is the first the prime option, and the second one de-prioritised non prime but that same day that has a wider slot? Or have I got it the wrong way around? 😅
