Anyone else watching the new Like Water for Chocolate series on Max? It’s even better than the movie and more true to the style of the book. I love every minute of it.

Hawai'i also repealed a constitutional provision that allowed the legislature bad same-sex marriage. 🎉
California has repealed Prop. 8 and enshrined same-sex marriage rights in the state constitution.

The have only been 4 Asian American Senators elected from states other than Hawaii (which itself has elected 4). Andy Kim will become the 5th, the 1st Korean American Senator, and will the the Senate’s third-youngest member.

This punishment is severe but Penn should have terminated Wax’s employment. Students correctly believe that she cannot be an impartial judge of their academic performance. It’s unfortunate that she’s ruined her reputation and that of Penn Law School.

It was a pleasure getting to know Ms. Sonoko and Ms. Keiko at the Furukawa Living Treasure 25th Anniversary celebration. We sang Japanese folk songs, made cards, and they shared secrets about growing old gracefully. They told me: don’t take yourself too seriously and laugh a lot.
