Today, my 4 year old suggested that I count to 5 to make me feel better after accidentally putting cumin in our gingerbread mix instead of cinnamon. "Run, run, run as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm the Cuminbread Man!" Happy weekend, everyone.

@MrCStJames @JamieThomasTFW @SandgateTfW @PieCorbett @Talk4Writing I know that @PolegateSchool use a hard backed book which are gorgeous. We just have some notepads that are very clearly not exercise books - whatever you can get access to I'd suggest!

@MrCStJames @JamieThomasTFW @SandgateTfW @PieCorbett @Talk4Writing ...e.g. portal/quest story etc, poetic, persuasive etc. but that has needed less & less each time; they try to keep this bit to 5 minutes so the children have at least 10 to crack on. They then provide it as an option in any other 'spare' 5 minutes & ch'n can take journals home

@TamsinEdmunds @PieCorbett @SandgateTfW It'll feel odd at first and they're likely to want you to provide more but we found the children really quickly settled in. Of course, that's helped if they've had a rich diet of texts and teaching through @Talk4Writing too

Busy day at St Francis and St Blasius academies on the Isle of Wight. Superb to see @Talk4Writing practice really beginning to grow, with rich talk, strong composition and a clear framework for teaching in place. Jolly Postman with the EYs was also a glorious festive treat 🎄
