On the same day I was awarded QTS and a resilience award, I’ve also just had a call from an interview I attended this morning and THEY’VE OFFERED ME THE JOB!!! What a day!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Nothing annoys me more than when a parent emails me, accusing me of not dealing with an incident of bullying even though their child has mentioned nothing to me. 😒

Today marks the start of a new chapter - starting my new job as a qualified PE teacher.
I’ve spent the last 10 years preparing for this - various roles in different schools alongside studying (degree, PGCE and SCITT). A little nervous but also excited and raring to go! 👊🏻

What rubbish. No teacher is going to ignore bullying or brush it under the carpet - at least in all of the schools I’ve worked in - it’s taken v seriously.
If a parent doesn’t trust it’ll be dealt with then it’s not my fault - if I’m unaware I can’t do anything about it.

I worked in a primary school where the head instructed me to take certain children to the outdoor learning area located at the end of the school field for the day due to an Ofsted inspection. Didn’t work though as the school got RI. Still in RI. I no longer work there.

I’m teaching my first GCSE PE theory lesson tomorrow to year 10 (structure of the heart). I have applied the finishing touches to my PowerPoint and it’s ready to go (I think). Nervous is an understatement. Fingers crossed it will be ok. 😅🤞🏻

The only thing poppycock is what that dinosaur thinks about people who work from home. I do not doubt that a small majority probably are less productive, but research has shown more people work longer hours and get more work done, as they don’t waste time commuting, etc.

About to set off to my main placement school for the final time as my course comes to an end tomorrow.
Going to miss the school, staff and students, but I’ll always hold the school close to my heart - it really has been a wonderful school to train in.

It’s dawned on me that it is now autumn. It worries me knowing there will now be people who simply cannot afford to put their heating on as the weather gets cold… and struggle to afford a food shop… and struggle with everything else…😔 Surely this cannot go on?

My time in Spain has come to an end. It was an amazing holiday and I certainly needed it after the chaotic year I’ve had!
Back to reality now though - an extended summer hols before I kick off my ECT career in September.
