Ken Squier was the only reason I made the move from driver to TV analyst. He suggested I meet with CBS management at the end of 1965, my first broadcast was in august 1976, which led to a wonderful 41 years in US TV.

I seem to remember in Austria a couple of years ago Charles Leclerc being literally pushed of the road by his pursuer. Hmm now it’s a dangerous dangerous move???
Glad I’m ok. Very disappointed with being taken out like this. The penalty given does not help us and doesn’t do justice to the dangerous move Lewis made on track. Watching the celebrations while still in hospital is disrespectful and unsportsmanlike behavior but we move on

Let’s be real David. How many cars did Hamilton have to pass for those 7 titles? There hasn’t been any controversy or dirty moves because he hasn’t had to race anyone. Hamilton is the lucky guy driving that car. The achievement is all Mercedes.

How very sad, the passing of Dan Gurney, Jimmy Clark’s greatest fear. My 4th FJ race in ‘63 was one of my best. Walking thru the Paddock, Dan Gurney stopped and congratulated me!! He also added some great advice and did he even know me? A humble hero. RIP

Robin was a regular on NBC Indycar coverage, & I was fortunate enough to do a couple of shows with the team. Robin was wonderful to work with. Incredible knowledge, & a remorseless interviewer. Funny as heck all the time too! RIP Robin

What devastating news, the passing of John Andretti.Back in 1986, when he was just 22 and paired with an equally young Davy Jones, we were all teammates in the BMW GTP team. We had such fun together. I’ll remember him always. RIP John

Totally wrong. If, as a driver you have to second guess every move you make on some arbitrary supposed safety rules, the sport is a goner.
Outside passes are always very risky and the overtakes has to consider that.
Perez was very clumsy.
Caught up with Derek Warwick at the airport on the way home today. I'm still in agreement with his and the stewards' decisions yesterday. He told me how much they had to wrestle with Lando's initial penalty but that ultimately, it was a pretty clear breach of the regulations.

Ken Squier put NASCAR on the map. Period. He pushed and cajoled CBS for years to go NASCAR. They sent a senior VP in 76 & in 79 the Daytona 500 was aired flag to flag. That broadcast revolutionized motor sport in the USA.

The mechanical reliability of modern race machinery to me is absolutely astounding. After 22 hrs of flat out racing top 4 separated by a handful of seconds. This race has been won by more laps than these seconds!! Astonishing.

What a fight you’ve put up mate. Very stirring and courageous, victory is in sight!!
Coming up on 4 weeks since my surgery. Healing is taking longer than I like but they did some major overhauling to try and remove all the cancer. Due to some results, I will be going back on chemo but it will be in pill form this time. Trying to kill whatever may still be there.
