@ChurAscen1 Wyatt has absolutely loved it. Pizza has arrived which means he has now had to take a breathe and stop talking about it. He's buzzing. Thanks so much to everyone that looked after the children this week!

@ChurAscen1 I hope you all have a fantastic time - such a great experience. I'm sure Wyatt's hair will be similar to Simba's scruffy mane by now!

@historytastic I'll tell you at the end of the year!!! (If I can work it out). It's a very very emotive subject for some. And understandably so. There's also a risk of demotivating i.e. the child didn't reach the target...so what's the point of turning up anymore. (As an example)

@historytastic And as for impact, I'm not sure that'd be easy to isolate. Do they come to school to get the attendance award, see friends, enjoy learning...a mixture of the above. Hard to know. But just because I can't extrapolate, doesn't mean it isn't worthy.

@PaulWat5 @TopCatTeacher And when I say I don't think our praise awards motivate chn to do better. I think that's how I like it i.e. I'm going to work really hard and achieve...oh look someone has seen me and recognised my achievement. The main driver is to 'better yourself' (one of our values).

@PaulWat5 @TopCatTeacher I disagree. I don't think our Friday praise awards motivate chn to do better, so I agree in that regard. But the opportunity to publicly celebrate and involve parents in that has a sizeable impact.

@TopCatTeacher Absolutely! Also schools should (and I'm sure the significant majority do) make space within those awards for 'most improved' etc, including everyone.
