My Mets opinion (no one asked for) The date to watch is January 25th. The Mets are having an event called “Amazin’ Day” at Citi Field where current and former players will be in attendance. Essentially a fan fest. If the Mets don’t sign Alonso by then, i’d say he’s not back

According to league sources, Pete Alonso’s camp has offered the Mets a three- year deal with opt outs. This deal is only available to the Mets right now.
