GUCCI OWNER FACES EARNINGS CRISIS Kering, the French luxury group that owns Gucci, reported a significant 62% drop in net profit for 2024, falling to โฌ1.13-billion (R21.5-billion). Sales also dropped by 12%, reaching โฌ17.2-billion. This decline comes shortly after Kering made the tough decision to part ways with Gucci's creative director, aiming to revive the brand. Kering's other brands, including Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, and Balenciaga, also faced challenges. CEO Francois-Henri Pinault stated that the company made critical decisions to improve communications, sharpen product strategies, and enhance distribution quality, with a particular focus on Gucci.
