People are dunking on me for my leg press single rep max. They are confusing gym norms with an evidence based approach to biological age measurement. 1. This is validated biomarker test. 2. There is a standardized data set. 3. The instructions and standards for doing a technically precise leg press are well addressed and documented in peer-reviewed studies. 4. The time gate to measure speed was set at 90° knee angle, considered the cut-off for achieving a repetition in this exercise. 5. The maximum neuromuscular engagement for inclined leg press is achieved at 90°, 60°-70° for squats. 6. I followed the instructions based on the peer reviewed literature. 7. My 1 rep maximum weight is 850 lbs, for my bodyweight of 171 lbs, so I am able to press 4.97 my bodyweight, putting my way beyond the 90th percentile for men between 20-29 of age, at 2.27 bodyweights. (check table in 2) 8. This referenced scientific method may conflict with popular perception or how you prefer to exercise, but the scientific method works by identifying a marker with the method of measuring it, and then performing the measurement up to scientifically documented and accepted standards. I am not competing to be a body builder or power lifter, I am methodically measuring my biomarkers and publicly sharing my data. 🧵
