It's the 4th anniversary of the Mobile Museums of Tolerance, and we’re putting the high beams on three employees who have been driving forces (get it?) in the MMOT’s success. ⭐️ Alison Pure-Slovin, Midwest Region Director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, doesn’t lead from the side of the road—she’s a high-octane force, working tirelessly to expand MMOT’s reach and impact. ⭐️Acacia Dietz, Program Coordinator, has Illinois’s MMOT booked through 2027! She ensures the program runs smoothly. No roadblock is insurmountable with her at the wheel—her determination fuels MMOT’s success. ⭐️ Elizabeth Blair, Education Associate, brings the curriculum to life on the road, educating and steering students on road trips revved up by a belief in one special race: the human race.

🎉 We’re celebrating 4 incredible years of the Mobile Museums of Tolerance! Our first mobile museum rolled out of Chicago in February 2021, and we’ve been on the move ever since! By the numbers: 🔹 4 years 🔹 120,000+ students educated and inspired! 🔹 66,000+ miles traveled! 🔹 1 new MMOT in California 🔹 2 new MMOTs in New York! And we’re not stopping there… 2 more MMOTs are heading to Florida this year! 🌴 The MMOTs are setting out for cities across the country, teaching about antisemitism, prejudice, and discrimination, and bringing communities tools to combat hate. Follow us for more updates as we hit the road! 🚍 #MMOT #CombatHate #Education #4YearAnniversary

Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day, marking 80 years since the liberation of #Auschwitz, the notorious concentration camp where the Nazis murdered more than one million Jews were murdered. The #Holocaust claimed six million Jewish lives and millions of others, including LGBTQ+ individuals and people with disabilities—attempts by the Nazis to exterminate entire people. One of the best-known voices from the period is #AnneFrank, a Jewish girl who went into hiding in Amsterdam at the age of 13. On her birthday just before going into hiding, Anne was given a diary that is now one of the most famous accounts of the Holocaust. For two years in her hiding place--the Secret Annex--she wrote about her fears, dreams, and hopes for a better world. Beyond writing about her day-to-day life in hiding, Anne penned short stories, started a novel, and copied passages from books. In 1944, her family was discovered by the Nazis and interned. She died in Bergen-Belsen at 15, but her words survived, giving a voice to the millions of Jewish children who never had the chance to tell their stories At the Mobile Museums of Tolerance, we teach about Anne Frank and the Holocaust to ensure these stories are never forgotten. We help new generations understand the Holocaust and educate students about the dangers of hatred and the importance of standing up against discrimination. #InternationalHolocaustRemembranceDay #IHRD #NeverAgain

Today, on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Mobile Museums of Tolerance (MMOT) honor the legacy of a leader who transformed the civil rights movement. Through nonviolent resistance, Dr. King challenged racism and organized historic protests like the Montgomery bus boycott and the March on Washington, where he delivered his iconic “I Have a Dream” speech. His leadership helped pave the way for the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Through immersive education, the MMOT empowers individuals to stand up against injustice and create a more just world. We remain dedicated to educating others about racism, discrimination, and antisemitism to build a world free of intolerance, just as Dr. King dreamed. #MLKDay #CivilRights #MLK

Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, born on January 11, 1907, was a 20th-century Jewish philosopher and visionary who profoundly influenced the Civil Rights Movement. Viewing civil rights as a moral duty, he marched with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Selma and united faith communities for justice. In 1963, at the National Conference on Religion and Race, he inspired clergy to see racial justice as sacred, declaring, "Racism is man’s gravest threat to man." Heschel’s legacy reminds us that justice is everyone’s responsibility. The Mobile Museums of Tolerance proudly carry his message forward, educating communities about civil rights and the power of action. #RabbiAbrahamJoshuaHeschel #Heschel #CivilRights #MLK #RabbiHeschel #CivilRightsMovement #Education

Tara Levine, President of the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism (@StandUp2JewHate), recently visited the California Mobile Museum of Tolerance (MMOT). During her visit, she met with Rabbi May, Executive Director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, and Ann Pesahovitz, Associate Director of Education Programs, to explore how the MMOT utilizes immersive technology and facilitated discussions to challenge visitors to confront antisemitism, bigotry, and hate. The MMOT also offers a workshop on the lessons of the Holocaust, featuring the story of Anne Frank. Bring the MMOT to your community:
