KYB on a Red Bull KTM? Well, I’ll try to explain my reasoning. Visually, Sexton’s latest fork appears to have a KYB cartridge with Technical Touch conversion lugs equipped. However, KTM’s staff stance is that this is a WP prototype fork. I’m curious to see where this goes…

Desmodromic basically uses a cam that actuates two rocker style arms. One opens the valve and the other closes the valve. No valve springs needed, valve float is basically eliminated. The system is abit more bulky so top of the engine has more mass but it eliminates valve spring

Yes, but you lose the resistance of the valve spring being pushed open on each actuation. There’s a little more friction because of the extra parts moving but once they’re moving it’s also mass that stays moving easier. Ducati has the system under lock and key with patents.
