@KellyScaletta 1. It's already required to pass a background check - private sales was a feature in the law, not a "loophole". Knowingly selling to a prohibited person is already a crime. 2. This would have no impact, as insurance does not cover deliberate or illegal actions.

@TristanSnell You realize the term limit thing would require an amendment to the Constitution? I don't see that happening. Congressional authority over SCOTUS is spelled out in the Constitution, and the only thing they could do is expand the court - and we have 4 years to figure that out.
