This is me in S1. Note my blazer is lighter. It was bought out of BHS rather than the recommended supplier. Know when I realised this? During my 1st PGDE placement, 14 years later. However, the cheap trackies I wore on non uniform day took all of 30 secs to attract comments.

I'm speechless. The "study guides" they made us WAIT for have left me angry & disappointed on behalf of our students. Surprised they didn't go as far as to explain how to fill in the boxes on the front of the exam paper - although that would have likely been of more benefit.

1 in 5 schools have AT LEAST 1 D&T vacancy. In my last survey, Aberdeenshire & City were 30 FTE short. We're on the doorstep of an Energy & Engineering stronghold but how are we to encourage students to pursue this growth sector if we don't offer them the opportunity in school?
Many secondary schools in Scotland have been unable to recruit design and technology teachers, prompting warnings that the subject could ‘die out through neglect’

Today I collected my commission from our local Smiddy - I redesigned dad's bloodstone signet ring to sit on the chain I got for my 30th. I don't like yellow gold but it was important to me to keep the rings character whilst creating a piece that went with my own jewellery. I❤️it

I hate the whole "Is it Miss, Mrs or Ms?" line of questioning. Men don't get that. They're not defined by their marital status. I can't wait to use "Dr" (in these circumstances only tbh) as it will represent something I had to work for and earn.
Maybe women should stop abandoning their family names to take on the name of their husbands.Why do we do that anyway?The sense of control a man has over a woman's identity has been very deeply embedded in society for way too long.

Today I had a no pressure, slow, easy jog around Loch an Eilein. Running for the past year has been difficult what with a broken foot, hip tendon issues and a 2 stone weight gain but days like today feel like progress on the long road to recovery!

Some of the best CPD I've ever done was sit the Highers alongside the students I was teaching. Putting yourself in the student role gives a much deeper understanding of some of the tasks. So today: 20 min sketch, 40 min render.

I'd like a move away from the central belt as the default go-to. I think a hybrid festival would definitely open up access, perhaps looking at satellite festivals to allow for the networking which is invaluable.
