💭
Next week is my last week working as part of
@CraigmountPA
, and I’m so grateful for all of the experiences we’ve shared and all of the people that have made it such a journey 🥹
While I was doing SQA verification work, the Trad Group were busy arranging the waltz tune Inisheer - what a lovely way to finish the school day 🥰🎻

@CraigmountHS
Feeling really proud of myself today 🏆 First ever Masters-level submission - done ✅ It’s been a lot of hard work in between teaching full-time, tutoring and additional commitments, but it’s been really insightful and enjoyable💡Time to relax and enjoy the rest of the weekend!😌
Brilliant, brilliant, BRILLIANT book for anyone in a mentoring capacity 👏🏻 Great to see really interesting standpoints and a range of research across the uses of mentoring 🔎 Lots of familiar names!

The quickest four years in the best profession 🤍 (wouldn’t let me tag you all!)
Thanks to
@IslayHigh

What an exceptional evening
@IslayHigh

@CraigmountPA
Had a wee epiphany moment on the journey home to Islay for the long weekend; I stopped off at a Starbucks I spent so many late nights doing uni assignments in, in the journey to become a music teacher.
Here I am at the age of 23 with a post in a wonderful school. Life is good🤍
Wholesome weekends 🫶 This special girl’s communion, listening to a friend’s recital in the most stunning church, and finishing off the final written assignment for my uni module = much happiness 🤍
Good morning from a mild and slightly rainy Islay 🌦️ We’re all awake and rehearsing for another day of gigging - Port Charlotte Hotel at lunch and Bruichladdich Hall tonight

A huge thanks to
@TrustFraser
@islaysessions
for letting our
@CraigmountHS
pupils perform on the main stage tonight - the support and encouragement from everyone has been overwhelming 🎻🎹 Seeing all the musicians play tonight is so inspiring!
Today our Highers, Adv. Highers and Trad Group took part in a showcase they organised, and shared their passion with BGE and
@RoseburnPS
pupils. Video to follow soon!
I feel so lucky to have been a small part of their journey… watch out world for these brilliant young people 🤍
Good luck to everyone returning to, or starting, their teaching journey tomorrow! A big mix of emotions in this teaching household tonight.
Looking forward to working more closely with our ECTs this year
@CraigmountHS
Every day I take a moment to reflect on how lucky I am to work with the young people and adults that I do.
Today even more so as I officially enter my second quarter century, and the kindness and thoughtfulness of our
@RosehillHS
pupils and team has been second-to-none ❤️🩷🤍
I haven’t seen as powerful a piece of work in a long time - thank you
@AMothersSong_
. The cast, production and score was incredible, and the story is one in which I feel both equally devastated and empowered as a woman for the choices we have to make.
Another flat, another chapter 🏡
Cannot believe that this time next week I’ll be getting ready to start my journey as Miss Mitchell! Looking forwards to getting started 👩🏼🏫

There’s something special about seeing pupils use Music Technology software for the first time. The excitement in the air and their unwavering focus… the hardest part is making them leave! What a privilege 🥰

A nice early Christmas gift from

. Lots to reflect on and consider when thinking about my future values as a leader and how multifaceted the role is 💭
A huge thank you to
@EducationScot
and
@MorayHouseCLPL
for hosting today’s Curriculum Innovation and Design session. Sessions like this demonstrate that the passion for learning, and passion for change, is inherently clear across learning communities in Scotland.
Taking a moment to reflect on a summer of fun and so many firsts 😌 So grateful to have this time to pause and collect myself with friends and family. My cup is very much full again 🥰
Time for

It has been a long week. But, it has been a week that’s proven there is an appetite for change within the Expressive Arts to make them more relevant and equitable for all. Exciting discussions

are helping expand our thinking for S4s next year… ✅
N5 pupils have started learning about their Baroque period in music.

Our Summer Concert last night was one of the best nights I've had in my teaching career - I am so overwhelmingly proud of all of the students
@CraigmountHS
and the staff that made it all happen ⭐️
This is a culmination of their passion, resilience and hard work - well done 🤍
The talent was outstanding with singers, guitarists, brass, wind, our trad group, choir and rock band!
We really have an amazingly talented group of pupils
@CraigmountHS
🥳
Really thought-provoking morning with
#EdScotTLP
talking about social identities and our values and beliefs - so much resonating with me (especially the idea of the ‘Identity Gap’) as I’m still early in my career and still finding my authentic self in education 💭
A beautiful morning to be back at the old stomping grounds, catching up with an inspiring ex-pupil who is following his dreams ☕️ Seeing pupils thriving in life = a very full heart 🫶
What a team 👊 Very much looking forward to continuing to build the relationships, culture, and ethos we aspire to within our faculty, so that all pupils have the opportunity to experience the joy of the Arts

Hello Twitter! We have loved working together with our young people

Glockenspiels galore with our S1 pupils
@RosehillHS
this week 🤪 We’re focusing on building our core skills for different instruments each term in Performing. Check out these superstars doing their warm-up with excellent rhythmic accuracy 👏

Last year, I felt quite unorganised with my own music studies, so I've started keeping a "practice diary" to analyse my own playing. I like using Microsoft OneNote because of its ability to include multimedia, and for its collaborative potential - just to name a few benefits!
Delighted to have received an email to let me know I’ve been accepted on to

journey this year! This year will be a huge year of change, and I am so ready to do the best I can to make it as positive as possible 👊

@CraigmountPA
Been clearing out old vids from my cameras and came across this belter… probably the only video I have of at least some kind of performance at uni 🤣 Going to use this as a teaching tool - if you make mistakes, don’t pull faces 🤦🏻♀️ Sorry for slaughtering your sonata Scarlatti 😮💨
So proud of our senior Music pupils for an excellent first day of SQA exams 👏🏻 This GIF was me after a few of them today 🤣
#tearsofjoy
Best of luck for everyone still to go on Thursday
@CraigmountPA

Well, that was pretty special 🥹 The biggest well done to all of the pupils, staff, and wider community for the hard work that has gone into Bugsy Malone 👏🏻 I’ve missed those faces, and they absolutely smashed it 👊 Can’t wait to see the other cast tomorrow!
It’s been so nice to get home and catch-up with friends and family after the craziest last half of the year 🌊 Getting as much rest + relaxation as I can before the new academic year

We think teacher leadership is about recognising your own skillset and that of others, and being able to inspire and empower in a continually evolving environment with the aim of providing the best experiences and sustained positive destinations for our young people
#EdScotTLP
We might be a bit biased, but we think the sound the junior choir are producing right now is phenomenal - and loads of them aren’t even in this video! 🤯⭐️ This is going to be something special once everyone and the instrumentalists are all together in concert 🎤
@CraigmountHS
Doing a Scottish listening period with the N5s today, and a student whips out his whistle to give us all a tune while I’m searching for my files on OneDrive 🏴👏🏻 Always blown away by the talent of our young people 🤩

Purposefully going slow this weekend. So many edu-things I’d like to see and do, but sometimes we’ve got to listen to our bodies and rest/reset 😮💨🌿
It was brilliant to see so many people at the P7/S3 Open Evenings

If I could end every term this way, I absolutely would. What a lovely evening seeing the wonder on pupil and parent/carer faces as we had tours around the building 💚 What a privilege. Looking forward to seeing new faces tomorrow!
Feel so much for our learners in S6, including my youngest sister, who have had their school journeys come to such an abrupt end 😔 Equally, I'm amazed by our young peoples' resilience in these uncertain times ⭐️
The 18/3 announcement that schools would close to most pupils left thousands coming to terms with the news that, far earlier than expected, it looked like they had left school. Here's how one S6 processed it.
