At this time of year we would normally be visiting Barleystone nursing home to sing songs for the residents. Since we can't do that this year, we decided to make a video telling them a Christmas story instead! We hope that you will enjoy it too. ☃️
A huge well done to everyone who gave their endangered animal presentations this week. You all spoke to the class so confidently and gave lots of interesting information! 🐘🦧🦒
Here is our completed class charter. We discussed as a class how we could make sure that our rights are respected and that we are respecting the rights of one another. P3/2 are rights respecting superheroes! 🦸🏻♀️🦸🏽♂️
Today we began learning about how we can use a hundred square for addition and subtraction. We got familiar with the patterns on the hundred square by playing fastest finger! 🔥
A huge well done to P3W’s Scots poetry competition. You blew me away with how confidently you recited the poem and the amazing expression you used! 🏴 🤩
We used our persuasive writing skills to try and persuade Miss Richards to get a class pet! Well done to our two star writers who managed to persuade her to buy a rabbit for the class - we have named him Mr Fuffles! 🐰 🥕
I am so proud of P1R! You all worked so hard learning the words to our Scots poem ‘In My Wee Rid Motor’. 🚘 You were all so brave to stand up and say it individually in front of the class too. 🤩
This afternoon we began learning about the traditions of Chinese New Year. 🏮 We listened carefully to instructions to help us draw a Chinese lucky cat.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend! ☺️

P1R are such responsible citizens. All the litter at the Glen makes us very sad, so this afternoon we used our time at the Glen to do a litter pick! ♻️
I am so glad to be back at school with all of these smiling faces. We had a fantastic first day back and I am certain that these hard workers will achieve so much this term! 😊💫
We are continuing to learn about data handling. Yesterday we created a class pictograms and then took turns being the teacher and asking each other questions about it. 🍏🍓🍒
Another fabulous term with these superstars. Your hard work and kindness to one another makes me so proud every day! Have a wonderful holiday and a fantastic Christmas, it is very well deserved. Stay safe and I can’t wait to see you all soon! 🤩💕
A very special delivery arrived in our class today! 🎁 We asked
@Falkirk_LRS
if we could borrow some books related to our interests. We were all very excited to dive into our new books with our friend! 📖
For our
#12daysoffitmas
challenge we had to create a Christmas selfie. We made our own elf photo booth props and turned our class into Santa’s workshop! 🎅🏻 🎁

P3W have been busy creating a class charter to show how their rights under the UNCRC will be respected in school. We decided we wanted an emoji theme! Stay tuned for the finished product.
We use king fu punctuation to help us punctuate our sentences during grammar. Today we learned about when to use exclamation marks, ask us if we can give you an example. ❗️📝
P3W will have P.E. on Tuesday’s with Miss Richards and on Friday’s with Miss Hurst. Children should come to school dressed in their P.E. kit on these days. ⚽️🏀🎾
Today we completed a STEM challenge! We read the story of the the Three Little Pigs 🐷 and then tried to build a house that was strong enough to withstand the big bag wolf 🐺 We even used a hairdryer to test our designs.

This afternoon we were challenged to find the best material to make a new suit for Santa. We conducted and experiment to see which materials were waterproof. 🎅🏻
Today we tried some chime meditation. We were able to concentrate on the noise of the chime for a long time and opened our eyes when we couldn’t hear it anymore. ✨
We filled our positive pom pom jar! Our class treat was watching an online pantomime this afternoon. Our class elf Cookie even left us a special treat to eat! 🍪
Today for

we listened to the story How Many Legs? We used our knowledge of data handling to sort all of the animals in the story into a Venn Diagram of where they live. 🐙🦛🐶
Today we spoke about why some people wear poppies and what they represent. We then had a go at creating our own piece of poppy art in the style of Georgia O’Keefe.
It is

this week! We are learning about maths by reading stories. 📖 We read the story Pezzetino and created our own characters that could fit in the book. We used our knowledge of greater than and less than to compare the number of coloured squares in our designs.
Today we took our numeracy learning outside. One team threw bean bags in the hundreds, tens and units hoops and the rest of us worked out what the number was at the end. 🌳
Thank you so much to everyone who came to Parents’ Evening tonight. It was so lovely to see everyone in person and talk about the super learning we have been doing in class! 😊
Tomorrow is our Christmas party! Our party will be taking place when we would usually have P.E. so children can come to school dressed in their party clothes rather than their P.E. kit. Can’t wait for a boogie tomorrow afternoon! 🎅🏻 🕺🏻
