These past months have been a VERY REAL learning experience. Read to the end for the adjustments we're making to how we do things. With everything made and on the way to being packaged and final shipments going out, we are preparing to do our end-of-quarter inventory and ordering. We will have all items on the site marked "out of stock" during this process, and the banner at the top of the site will change to reflect this. WE WILL NOT BE taking the site offline or putting it into maintenance mode as we complete this so you can still have access to your account and history and all that. What this means, though, is that as we change up our offerings and add new products to our catalog, some parts of the site may break (a little) for a little while (a couple of hours) from time to time (through Monday). We are revamping our order status system so you can better track where your items are in our process. "Processing" doesn't say much, so we're changing that up for y'all in the coming days. This means email spam at first while we test it, so PLEASE watch for a feedback poll from us on which status updates you might want email for and which you don't want notice of. After wholesale orders go out for September, we'll put item quantities that ARE MADE AND READY TO SHIP back in stock and will continue that model moving forward. While we would LOVE to make everything TO ORDER in real time, it's GLARINGLY apparent after these last three months that this method just isn't sustainable for us after a certain volume of orders comes in regularly. (some things can still be made to order quickly, and those will remain unchanged in our system) THANK YOU for giving us this WONDERFUL problem to learn from! Moving forward, we DO promise that we won't be shipping out anything that is within 3 months of its end of shelf life expectation. Shelf life changes for a lot of our products after they're opened, so please read the labels of your stuff to see what that is and be mindful of possible spoilage for things that MAY spoil after opening.

He sure didn't! That's a "beauty bar." It's has soapy stuff, but isn't ACTUALLY soap. Know the difference :) SCIENCE! Soap is sodium (or potassium, if we're talking liquid soap) salts of fatty acids. It's made by reacting sodium hydroxide (lye), or potassium hydroxide (also lye) for liquid soap, with things like coconut oil, olive oil, palm oil, tallow etc. Speed's snack here does contain soap, but that's not all that's in there. The soapy bits appear on the label as sodium isethionate, sodium oleate, and sodium laurate. These are saponified (saponification is the process of the lye eating the oil to produce the salt of the fatty acid) from tallow (cow or sheep fat) and coconut oil. The government agencies that oversee cosmetics (the Dove bars) and soap (our bars) define soap as not containing detergents other than those salts of fatty acids as a direct result of saponification. They also regulate products to list ingredients on the label from the most present to the least present. The first ingredient listed on a Dove bar label is a non-salt detergent, so presumably there’s more detergent in the bars than there is soap. The result... Unilever (Dove's parent company) can't put "soap" on the label and has to call it "beauty bar" instead. So yeah... no way Speed just ate a bar of soap :)
