@Rimmy_Downunder By conscript I meant a soldier with minimal gear and individual value as opposed to higher value targets like Officers, Generals, Tanks, APCs, landed aircraft, AT/AA teams. It is hyperbole/lilote and not loaded language. Lastly, dont really care about Russia.

@omegatheta @Rimmy_Downunder Quite the opposite, as someone who lives two countries away, of military age and healthy, the war makes me quite worried. Especially when Im a couple of government decisions away from being in the same situation as the guys getting blasted daily by drones, arty or planes.

@Rimmy_Downunder In terms of scale sure. But I was talking about the direct control over the destruction you have and how close (relatively speaking, hence the line about eyes) to your target can you be. Im sure youve seen plenty of videos of soldiers in Ukraine being grenaded like that.

@Rimmy_Downunder In very simple terms then. There is a difference between firing a shell at a target far away and having results relayed back go you, and directly controlling a vehicle that flies so close you can see in your target's eyes and manually dropping a live grenade at their feet.

An intriguing suggestion has been proposed to the problem of relocating Gaza Arab “Palestinians.” South of the Arabian peninsula is an island called Scotra. It is of sufficient size and has almost no habitants. The location is far from the Jews that the Palestinians despise so much and closer to their Arab brethren — with a water buffer zone to keep them at bay (literally) as the other Arabs prefer. It’s also a beautiful paradise with even more beachfront property than Gaza. Suggested by @moymiz
