Two selfish people can’t live in harmony. Below, I define two versions of perception in the same context. What appears to be the smarter way to observe life? You like overarching control without respect of my opinion because you think your idea is the best. I like giving us the option of ideas, and am open to yours. You like taking all of my attention to feel comfortable. I like giving my attention to things I have not seen or experienced yet. You like ridiculing me for what I do based on what others told you. I like exploring new situations for what they are to me. You like doing nothing about your problems. I like solving problems as they arise, even if I didn’t cause them. You like complaining about things you have no control over. I like moving forward and doing something with what I have control over. Doesn’t this sound a lot like the conundrum America has run into? Corrupt politicians who do nothing about problems within their country, who instead pour gas on the fire. Or, a new administration run by hyper-intelligent and successful leaders who solve problems and make systems run more efficiently with simple solutions. Selfishness can extend beyond yourself if everyone who relies on you experiences life the same as you. We are one, run by the same system. It can be a beautiful world if we open ourselves up to new experiences, and leave fear in the past. Once we have the audacity to take initiative over our thoughts, it feels like a leap into a new existence we are all apart of. I see myself in a supersonic starry night. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
