The misconception that if someone has difficulty with speech and language it somehow impacts on their intelligence is so wrong.
Don’t underestimate us. We have an average to above average intelligence. We just struggle to verbally express our thoughts and ideas.

The 3 talks at B’ham City Uni went really well.
Yes, I had to read my speech and I stumbled on a few words. My friend, Josh, even had to say one word for me (only once) as even though I had written it and could say it in my head I couldn’t pronounced it at that precise time!

All the money has now been counted and I am please to say that my event on Saturday raised £2217, all of which will go towards supporting children with additional needs in school. More awareness raised too 😊

Just because I am quiet, I don’t push myself forward and I’m not the most outgoing person, it doesn’t mean that I have nothing to say. I’ve worked too hard to get where I am today, to find my voice. I refuse to be pushed aside. I refuse to be forgotten and I refuse to be silent!

I picked up my results for the CACHE Level 3 Childcare and Education course and I am happy to announce that I passed. I am now qualified to work with children.
Now it’s the hard part, trying to find a job in this current climate.
