#FernFriday . Adiantum venustum the hardy Maidenhair fern these two pots are not looking too shabby for early February but come April will have loads of lush new growth . 🌿

lobelia excelsa , grown from seed 5 years ago and has been planted it in the garden for the last 3 years, but always gets cut to the ground in winter it regrows each spring but has never flowered, now potted up & overwintering in the greenhouse so I’m hoping it will this year🤞

Cussonia sphaerocephala commonly known as the Natal forest cabbage tree , in its native habitat can reach a height of 25m tall . loving the colour of this juvenile plant so out of the greenhouse today for a few photos .

Our one and only Bamboo, Chusquea andina from high altitudes in the Andes . This little beauty only grows to about 1m tall and has thick pale blue/green leaves .

Gloomy but dry here in Poole Dorset so perfect for sowing a few seeds Bit late with these Melanoselinum decipiens - Giant Black Parsley seeds Seeds sown in a 2l pot onto some good free draining compost & covered with grit these will germinate naturally as the weather warms 🌱

Update on our Oreopanax liebmannii that started a new flush of leaves nearly 10 weeks ago ( last photo ) now fully open , loving how symmetrical the new growth is 😁

Our seed grown Oreopanax sp with the most spectacular cut leaves . looking so lush in our unheated plant port . So I decided to sow some more seed again today , the first ones I grew from seed were very variable in leaf shape but this seedling stood out from the rest .

Our Billbergia nutans Variegata still looking imaculate it’s been firmly attached to one of our Tree ferns for a few years now and has survived lows of -8 with minimal leaf damage . So far this winter our lowest temperature has been - 2.8
