Adam Vinatieri to Eric Ebron: “That was one of the top 25 catches I’ve seen” on his TD. Ebron responded: “That means a lot since you’ve been playing 85 years:”
Colts owner Jim Irsay, who is one of the most generous people around, is paying for the funerals of linebacker Edwin Jackson and Uber driver Jeffrey Monroe, who both died after being hit by a drunk driver on the side of Interstate 70 early Sunday morning.
Chris Ballard on Carson Wentz: ‘At the time, we felt it was the right decision…I’m not going to make a comment on who is going to be here next year and who is not.’
BREAKING: Quenton Nelson has the same foot injury as Carson Wentz. He’s scheduled to have surgery in Indy later today with the same doctor as Wentz. Similar 5-12 week timeline for Nelson
Best Jonathan Taylor quote of the day goes to Mo Alie-Cox:
'One play at the goal line I’m blocking and I turn my head and see him fly through the air like a f---ing super hero.'
Colts GM Chris Ballard: 'I'm not here to talk football...black lives matter. I don't know why it's so freaking hard for the white community to say. This is not a black problem. We can't sugarcoat our way out of it" Ballard giving an impromptu passionate zoom call
The Colts had one job to do over the final two weeks of the season: Win one game to lock up a playoff spot.
That's it.
They weren't prepared for Las Vegas and they flat out embarrassed themselves against the Jaguars.
Colts WR TY Hilton (calf) on if he’ll play again this season despite slim chances to make the playoffs: “I would never quit on my team. I signed up for 16 games. Some guys may shut it down and call it quits. I don’t do that.”
Professional update (now that

The Colts are the first team to lose in playoff history with 450+ total yards (season-high 472 yards) and 0 turnovers. Teams were previously 11-0 hitting those benchmarks, according to

Interesting comparison between Colts LB Darius Leonard and 49ers Fred Warner after Aaron Rodgers called Warner best LB
Leonard has 23 more tackles, 10 more sacks, 4 more forced fumbles and 4 more interceptions than Warner, who also entered the NFL in 2018, while 7 less games
Carson Wentz came to Indy thinking he would be playing behind a damn good o-line. He didn't realize he would reach 10,000 steps on his Fitbit by halftime in each of the first two games because he was running for his life so much.
I’m curious to Sam Ehlinger see against the Colts No. 1 defense because he’s making the QB position seem WAY easier than Jacob Eason has since Carson Wentz got injured
Pacers owner Herb Simon on Victor Oladipo: "After what we went through with somebody who didn't want to be here, to have someone who really wants to be here is so rewarding and refreshing. His whole spirit brought life into the whole team."
Jacob Eason will start Sunday’s preseason game against Carolina. BUT he will split 1st team snaps with Sam Ehlinger in the joint practices vs. the Panthers on Thursday and Friday, coach Frank Reich said
Remember when the schedule was supposed to catch up to the Titans when they played the Chiefs, Buffalo and Rams?
Or when Derrick Henry got injured?
It hasn’t happened so far.
Mike Vrabel is a hell of a coach. He might be the most underrated coach in the NFL.
Former Colts pass-rush specialist Dwight Freeney is expected to sign a contract with Indianapolis and then immediately retire with the team, according to a source. Freeney spent the first 11 years of his career with the Colts where he eventually teamed...
Never know the friendships you’ll develop in life. Benner and I started with a PR/media relationship. That eventually turned into a hell of a friendship. Never will forget the past 20 years with you, esp. the past few weeks hanging with you in the hospital and hospice. Love you
Colts announce that Andrew Luck will address the media after practice Friday. This will be the first time Luck has talked since the team shut him down to get a cortisone shot in his shoulder more than 2 months ago. He has since been placed on IR and been to Europe for treatment
Michael. Pittman. Jr. basically told the defensive back to 'sit his little a-- down' when he went up and snagged the catch for the touchdown to give Indy a 30-18 lead.
Philip Rivers on Marcus Peters INT: "It's gotten so jacked up how the catch rule is. No one who has been around football or watched football thought that was a catch, incl. the guy who caught it. But some guy who has probably never caught a football in his life gets to decide."
Some fans not happy with the Jacob Eason pick. You probably could be upset if he were selected with one of Indy's two 2nd round picks. He was still on the board in the 4th. He won't start. He'll sit and learn behind Rivers. Not a bad move by Indy considering where they picked him
Guy on my flight just asked about the players on the Colts. Told him in my almost 20 years as a reporter, this Colts team is in the top two of teams I’ve covered. Not one bad guy in there, and they all truly, truly get along. That goes a long way with their talent and production
To go on the road, in Madison Square Garden, in Game 7 and beat the Knicks. Props to the Pacers. Memorial Day weekend is going to be crazy in Indy. Games 3 and 4 against Boston and the Indy 500.
Michael Pittman Jr. on Carson Wentz's arm strength was noticeable instantly:
“He threw like a 65-yard post, and I was like, 'Oh my gosh, I gotta dig down and run.'"
The
@Colts
were down 28 points in the third quarter. Their season looked over.
But with a little bit of luck and a whole lot of Luck, they staged one of the greatest comebacks in NFL history.
Five years ago today.

Indy is once again showing why it's an incredible sports city
Crossroads Classic with Butler, Purdue, Notre Dame and IU at the Fieldhouse.
Big Ten Football Championship being played down the street at Lucas Oil Stadium with Ohio State and Northwestern
Only thing missing: Fans
I’ll say it again: For a player who is supposed to be limited, Carson Wentz is out here doing the damn thing. He’s taken all the 1st team reps in one-on-ones and 7-on-7s
Of all the positive stats by the Colts this season, this one definitely ranks at/near the top: The 18 sacks given up tied for the fewest allowed in the NFL
Colts GM Chris Ballard on the long-term QB position:
“Taking one will get you all off my ass for the time being…but the moment that guy doesn’t play well, I’m going to be the first one run out of the building.”
Andrew Luck SHOWED 🆙 and the
@Colts
spoiled Peyton Manning's return to Indy.
The 2013 Broncos vs. Colts match up is on NBCSN at 9:30pm ET.

Colts at a struggling Pittsburgh team losing 17-0 to Cincy next weekend. Titans at a Green Bay team that is trying to get the No. 1 seed in NFC next weekend. Week 16 will be very interesting
From a potential season-turning victory, to a horrendous meltdown after being up 19 pts with 3 min left in 3rd qtr, to losing in OT and having the already bad season continue to go downhill.
That’s your 2021 Colts for you
Wasn't always pretty, but that was an impressive victory by the very shorthanded Colts over the Cardinals to move closer to wrapping up a playoff spot.
With the Colts trading Carson Wentz after one season and now saying Sam Ehlinger will start in place of Matt Ryan (even he's healthy) the rest of the season, they're basically acknowledging they messed up for the second straight year at the QB position.
Ouch! Double Ouch!
Quick break from tweeting about the Colts and their horrible performance Sunday. Lots of talk about Coach of the Year. Mike Vrabel is one of hell of a coach. No. 1 seed in the AFC w/o Derrick Henry for 9 games. Where’s the respect for him
