This was my sons 4-h project 8 years ago out of one of his own ewes. She was last in her class. I tease him about it every year as she raises a solid set of twins on nothing but grass.
In the next few days/weeks/months I will be doing a little

twitter project. I will be showing some of the ways that I strive for improved soil health in my long term perennial pasture sheep and cattle grazing operation. Stay tuned for

The kids wanted 4-h lambs. So we put a ram out for a day at weaning. Today I sorted 22 to lamb next week. I hope they learn how much work confinement lambing is.
This is how I train cattle to electric fence. 2 poly wires, lots of highly visible posts in a location they will all get an educational shock. 430 fresh steers all on the right side of the fence after 12 hours.
An hour interesting day at Grey Dufferin Community Pasture. Processed some quality steers, enjoyed some hot sunny weather, took cover from the heavy rain, hail and wind. And now I listen to the humming of the backup generator to power the electric fencer.
