Donald Trump has dissolved the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities. It's part of the administration’s effort to roll back policies on art and culture. He disbanded the Committee during his first term, but it was reinstated by President Biden in 2022. Formed by President Ronald Reagan, the committee played a key role in shaping cultural policy.

Global #stocks dropped in early trading Monday, as investors assessed the potential impacts of newly announced #tariffs. Major auto giants were among the biggest decliners amid concerns for their #SupplyChains. Oil prices jumped, while a gauge of the U.S. dollar rose to a two-year high as expectations grew for higher #inflation and #InterestRates.

@nytimes: The Canadian provinces of Ontario and Nova Scotia announced that they will pull American, beer, wine and spirits from their government-owned liquor stores. Ontario imports $690 million, worth of U.S. products each year. BC is stopping sales of Red State alcohol.

Canada is retaliating against the Trump Tariffs by pulling American wine and spirits off the shelves. Imports of U.S. wine to Canada were worth $538.4 million and spirits accounted for $363.1 million. #Kentucky, #Tennessee and #California will feel the biggest impact.

I just finished a book on the amazing Tuskegee Airmen, who not only broke racial barriers, but had one of lowest "loss of life" record on any fighter pilot unit. Removing their story because of a "DEI directive" from President Trump is misguided.
More DEI fallout: Air Force scraps course that used videos of Tuskegee Airmen and female WWII pilots

I've seen this reposted on social media when it's clear that the person didn't read the article. This isn't some extreme measure, it was introduced to show the hypocrisy of contraception legislation always being aimed at women. Blackmon told Newsweek that the bill is meant to "point out the double standards in legislation."
The legislation introduced by state Sen. Bradford Blackmon would make it unlawful for “a person to discharge genetic material without the intent to fertilize an embryo."
