Might be a travel pod. My brother in-law and two other F-16 pilots flew from San Antonio up to Big Spring for their air show, he had one on his plane. When he left we had loaded it will Elk, venison and buffalo to take back. I asked if we needed to ice it and he said he's have it frozen solid in just a few minutes. When he hit the end of the runway he shot straight up.

If it's the right one it's got some value. Pop gave me a sporterized 03 Springfield for my 8th birthday. This one was a 30-06 done by R.F. Sedgley. It came with a Lyman 48 Peep sight. They're going for 2500-3000 bucks now. Find one in the rarer calibers he offered and they can run 5,000 plus.

@TracesofTexas Had a hunting lease outside of El Indio, we were constantly finding expended 50 caliber BMG cases and live rounds, some still in the belt. Seemed they flew over and cleaned the planes out before landing.
