I still work a full time day job, have four kids, two are autistic, my wife is attending medical school… so I do my voiceover 4-5 nights a week from ~9PM to midnight or 1-2AM, going on four+ years now.
Voiceover takes *tremendous drive & persistence.
“Success” is subjective.
I started voice acting in 2011.
I was not in a paid videogame until 2013. Two years of work.
I was not in an anime until 2021. Ten years of work.
I did not get an agent until 2023. TWELVE years of work.
These things take time. It’s okay to go at your own pace w/ your goals.

You can hang up these acoustic blankets on shower curtain rods & rings within your closet or PVC booth.
GAME-changing!
I recorded my first $$,$$$ job from this closet setup!
And I STILL use them, even *inside* my enclosed booth.
Poor audio quality can be improved cheaply!
I'd suggest letting Mike have a listen if your audio doesn't feel up to scratch and you're not sure what you can do 😄
Cheap suggestions:
- Old duvets
- An upright mattress
- Don't record into flat wood surfaces
- 2nd hand equipment
