I've added the average trend line. It is calculated as the 2024 grand average for all 38 weather stations that existed in both 2005 and 2024: 16.8 degrees C. Many know I do not like averages, but calculating medians for these data points can be difficult.

This update is in response to the Randel, et al. paper on the Hunga Tonga impact on Northern Hemisphere temperatures (November 4, 2024). The yellow line is a -2.0 degree Celsius adjustment to show temperature estimates for 2024 if the 2022 eruption had not occurred.
