RELEASE: LEO has awarded $5.65 million in need-based grants through the new, one-time Symphony Economic Recovery Program, supporting all 41 eligible symphony orchestra applicants across the state. Read the full release: #LEOPress #MichiganGrants #MILEO

✅ $1 million for Focus: HOPE (general fund) to support workforce development, youth development and community empowerment and advocacy programs.

✅ $7.5 million to Remove Barriers to Work (general fund) for low-income, poor and working poor residents, including those who earn above the poverty level but not enough to adequately sustain a household. These services will address transportation, legal services, and more.

✅ $1 million for the Office of Rural Prosperity (general fund) to support grants that enhance regional and statewide coordination of services and programming in rural communities and help develop the plans and partnerships needed for economic growth.

✅ $19 million to expand access to registered apprenticeships. Michigan has more than 22,000 registered apprentices and ranks 4th nationally in total number of active apprentices and has more than 850 active registered apprenticeship programs.
