Be careful everyone! I haven't been on X long, but I've already been scammed. This one broke my heart because I thought it was a member of the Church that was corresponding with me. I've always looked up to him and it turns out...it wasn't even him. I was stupid enough to send him a financial contribution and personal information, too. I'm trying hard not to cry over here. The money and personal info is bad, but I guess it's a hard lesson learned. What's so much worse is the hurt because I looked forward to hearing from him. He called me his spiritual daughter and I really needed that during this really rough time of my life. If this message helps just one person then the painful lesson is worth it.

@RobertBurns82 I've wondered that myself. I hadn't come across anyone saying anything derogatory about him all this time, and then bam!

@UncleFlapjacks Oh good- thanks! I read a book last year called THE LIFE OF ST. JOSEPHINE BAKHITA and it was awful. Completely soulless. I found out after the fact that it had been "written" by AI. I was hoping to come across a good book about her!
