1 The word Palestinian comes from the word Philistines, meaning invaders. They were Greeks escaping the Spartan war. Word Palestine was given by Greek Herodotus around 5th Century BCE to the land where Philistines lived in coastal Gaza. Arabic does not have letter P in alphabet.

2) Britain did nothing but expel Jews from Gaza 1920, Hebron 1929, not help Jews in Iraq when Al Hussaini went there to start riots against Jews. Britain helped train and was on the side of Hashemites in 1948 when 5 Arab countries invaded the new Independent Israel. Short story.

1) Palestinians can have Gaza, Parts A and B per the Oslo Accords anytime. Israel, Judea and Samaria are Jewish. Muslims, until the 20th century, recognized that. This is about wanting to take back a land once conquered by Muslims but was never a state.

1) Amazingly you and others are going by word of mouth, not evidence. You have no evidence the land is not owned by Jews who bought it. The land was Ottoman property until WWI. Jordanian from 1948 to 1967. There is no Palestinian stolen land as they did not own any of it.

NO ONE is being displaced. NO ONE was going to be displaced from 1920 on. The ones displaced on purpose from 1920 on are the Jews of Gaza, TransJordan, Hebron and then all of Judea, Samaria, Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem because Al Hussaini could not have Jews being sovereign.

2) Jews, Kurds, Copts, Berbers, Yazidis, all indigenous people of those lands have a right to reclaim their lands after the defeat of the Ottoman Empire. Only the Jews managed to get a very small part of it, most of it given to Arabs who escaped the Saudis in early 1900s.

Not sure Hamas asked civilians to hold the hostages. Do remember that civilians, non Hamas and other groups invaded as well. Did they take them by their own choice to their homes or with Hamas knowledge. That is what I would like to know. Terrorists, still, by any definition.
