The U.S. 64 wildlife crossing is one of the most important wildlife connectivity projects in the country. Critically endangered red wolves will disappear if we do nothing.

After creating and implementing a successful coexistence program, one rancher realizes they are part of a highly functioning ecosystem, when before, they were an agent acting against it. Coexistence works!

Grizzly bears face serious challenges — climate change, habitat destruction, loss of food sources, recreation pressure and busy highways. ID's year-round baited wolf trapping added unjustified, cruel mortality. This court ruling protects grizzlies.

We are facing a tsunami of fossil-fueled bad ideas that will undermine endangered species and habitat protection, ushering the United States into a dystopian world of environmental law. But we can fight to keep the progress we've made.

Traps can inadvertently catch nontarget species, including wolverine and lynx, and there are risks to people, pets and livestock. Recreational use of public lands has sharply increased, and the economic importance of recreation has continued to grow.

Even though livestock conflict has declined and elk are flourishing, Montana still wants to cut its wolf population in half through legislation that will result in many wolf deaths and destroyed wolf families.

We have no confirmed release date for Asha, but as breeding season approaches, we must remember her story and advocate for release, regardless of reproductive status. Wolves deserve freedom to roam without artificial boundaries. Thank you, @accchronicle!

Why can we not put something in a bill that stops the use of motorized vehicles to be used as a weapon to kill any wildlife, including predators? Wildlife deserve protection from the fear and prolonged pain and suffering this practice causes.

We shouldn’t wait for something to go wrong to consider the impact of grazing on endangered lobos. Any potential removals or killings due to conflict with grazing livestock would be devastating to their genetic diversity, which is already dangerously low.

Animal rights and environmental groups, along with Wisconsin’s Ojibwe tribes, oppose lifting federal protections for wolves. We have seen what delisting does to wolves under hostile state management. Many wolves will die without legal protection.

New bills in MT are nothing less than a declaration of war and the beginning of an operational plan to slaughter Yellowstone and Montana wolves.

Range riders prevent livestock conflict through human presence, identify wolf presence with trail cameras, check for wolf tracks and scat, find dead livestock in a timely manner to determine cause of death, and alert ranchers to sick and injured livestock.

Galveston's ghost wolves, who share genetic material with the highly endangered red wolf, have become something akin to the island's unofficial mascots. Developers are encouraged to factor the wolves' needs into their future projects.

Communities depend on valuable Interior Department programs to protect our complex and uniquely American heritage, clean water and recreational and heritage economies. Congress invested in them for a reason. Communities deserve to have funding continue.

The entire narrative around wolves and their management has no basis; it’s more about managing the symbolism of wolves. The fear of wolves, often linked to fairy tales, can be alleviated with experience and knowledge.

There’s a critical flaw in the way MT estimates wolf populations, leading to management decisions based on inaccurate information. New state bills would further reduce wolf populations, and could lead to localized wolf extinction.
