RT @KellyAnne610: My only interest in the Super Bowl comes from the fact that when it ends baseball season will officially be right around…

@Berliner4Marc I get the fact that teams want their best player to get the most at bats.... however, the Mets lineup top to bottom would be better with Pete batting ahead of Soto.

@CryptoScar_Face No I’m not saying he’s the difference maker. Soto is the difference maker. But without Alonso it was a trade where Soto makes the Mets a little better in a swap but add Alonso and the difference between Soto and Marte is huge

Not to mention the Mets pitching is the same minus inconsistent Quintana, but they've added Minter to the bullpen and several pitchers who have high upside. Add Soto and improved CF in Siri (even though I don't like him), depth and have all the prospects needed to improve the pitching during the season if needed (if they don't get Cease or King before the season)

I recently heard someone talk, I'd give credit if I remembered who it was, who talked about the fact that Pete's swing % of balls in the strike zone was at an all time low for him last year. He needs to stop being so selective with his pitches. It puts him in pitchers counts and they can give him that slider away. If he stops being quite so selective and would swing at strikes, he wouldn't get in those pitch counts where he swings at balls well off the plate. And if he's hitting ahead of Soto, pitchers would throw him more strikes in early counts for him to swing on. I think with Soto giving him protection, he would get back to the 45+ maybe 50+ HR totals.

@Zachweb_ @user7473737 @MetsMuse And you're forgetting Yankee's logic that thinks the sun revolves around Yankee Stadium

@elalex267 I think they should sign Raley to a minor league deal and see if he can contribute. If he can repeat what he did pre-injury along with Minter, their bullpen will be much much better

@LMetzfan08 While I understand the rationale behind wanting Soto getting more at bats... the bat protection aspect is more important and if they don't bat Pete ahead of Soto, it's a HUGE mistake.

@JusDreEveryDay I think there is going to be a trade or 2 during spring training to get even more prospects, I can see McNeil, Marte, Megill among others being shopped during spring training
