If people want to contribute to the newgen faces, I will start dumping mine here >
The folder has also been shared with

So
@FootballManager
asked me to do a feature reveal. 👀
You now have the ability to set up your own friendly pre-season competition. As long as give it the same name every year you can track its history and previous winners. 🔥🏆🔥🏆🔥

This a wee thread on how gloriously varied and effective short throws are. Three short options, all of them strong dribblers and good with the ball under pressure, strong headers on the posts to offer the option for a cross /1
A little thread on what I've been up to in FM22 for those who care. I left Dynamo Kyiv and moved into the MLS with the Houston Dynamo. I mostly pursued what I like to call a Poképlayer challenge.
Ever since Beta came out, I have been no-lifing FM23. I started with a game just to scout around. There is no attribute masking, every league is selected, so I can just look around. This is what came of it.
Before I finally can my beta save, I want to share some of the better players I scouted and why they might be useful to anyone playing
#FM19
. Just watch this thread and feel free to comment or add to it.
#FM19scouting
As promised, the accidental blitz style that turned out better than expected. I was afraid they wouldn't be able to maintain this for 90 minutes. I was wrong.
For those who asked about the tactic I have been using... The double forward combo draws attention away from the SS and helps me more effectively play a low(ish) block.
Bit late to the party but hey ho... I have a Steam code for
#FM19
to hand out. You know the drill. Follow me, like and RT this tweet and we'll see which lucky bastard gets a copy of
#FM19
for free.
Dear
#FM20
wingbacks, I know I asked you to cross more. Crosses from one wingback to the opposite wingback were not what I had in mind. Please cut that shit out.
Wife off to see her parents. ✔️
Baby tagged along with mommy. ✔️
No chores left to do. ✔️
No coursework left to grade. ✔️
My own footy match doesn't start until 5. ✔️
That's a solid three hours of
#FM22
time. What a luxury.
Last year, I composed a similar thread. Just a bunch of players I thought were worthwhile, for a myriad of reasons. Some were fairly well-known, others weren't. Some will feature a second year, some will be new. Let's just see where we end up, eh?
A brief foray into shithousing strategies for FM.
I intend to do a follow-up on transfer market shithousing.
If it's not your cup of tea, don't read it.
My adventure with the Indonesian NT has started. Step 1; raise the level of the national team. I have shortlisted a number of dual-nationality players and will pester them to join us.
Decided to kick it up a notch on the scale of bat-shit craziness because why not? My beta tactic was fairly risky with no defensive roles and all that, but what if we did it with barely even a support role in the tactic?
My Cerberus article has just been updated with a download link. It's the tactic that scored the most goals and conceded the least during the Copa Manageria, so it's an exploitative, filthy piece of hacking shit. It works great as well.
RT's appreciated
First play-through. Season 1 completed and what a joy it was. Much improved Match Engine that feels more fluid and realistic. My players make mistakes as well as the AI's but they look and feel legit and believable. Quite happy with the feel of the game so far.
Spent a good hour-and-a-half cutting up pictures and removing backgrounds. Working on the "players look too old" and "players look too handsome" complaints as well.
I think I may have stumbled onto a new playing style by accident. I was testing a Blitz-style setup in a league game for 10 to 15 minutes to see how it worked. The baby cries, I forget to pause the game, and I come back to a 6-0 lead at HT vs. Arsenal.
For those wondering (and DM'ing), this is the Ajax tactic I use in beta.
Pretty sure I will do some sort of write-up, but as I am on holiday for a week, well... It won't be this week.
Testing it with Fortuna Sittard as well. This was the table.
A hot transfer summer is incoming... These magnificent bastards nearly won me the Champions League, so all of Europese is after the stars of the squad.
In the past, I have written a lot about scouting. Would people be interested in my actual default shortlists? As in, which players do I always keep tabs on.
I intended for this to become one big article but decided to cut it up into four pieces. These are the defensive principles I want to adhere to in FM21, plus why I want to adhere to them, how I intend to make it work and how I check if it's working.
For those who have advanced a bit further into the game, has Rennes turned into a French powerhouse for you? Note: never had the French league selected or managed there; they did this on their own...
I've named my third and final
#FM21
formation "Á la Hofland maar dan beter", as I have taken some inspiration from Fortuna's real-life formation. I then fixed everything I thought was wrong with it.
So another collaboration with
@FMCheapSeats
and
@bringbackmols
is coming up. 3-6-1-0. Utter filth. This is my take on it, more info will come soon enough.
Haven't even scouted any major leagues yet, and this is the current tally for the shortlist. For those not willing to wait for the screendump, have at it... The file will be updated regularly.
I'll do some cherry-picking in a bit.
As the 2071 season draws to a close, Sabgh has turned 37, and he's made 981 league appearances. He hasn't announced his retirement, so another season or so should be sufficient. Nearly there.
And for good measure... The scouting twitter thread. Just a bunch of players I thought were worthwhile, for a myriad of reasons. Some were fairly well-known, others weren't. Always fun.
I finally managed to sign a replacement for Zlatan? Care to find out who and how I ended up signing this player?
Give that a read. Be careful though, it's a long-read, which includes an analysis of what Zlatan actually did for us.
