@Overbound When I was a kid I used a specialized device that literally replaced Sonic with Knuckles. That's gotta count for something.

@plutiedev @SatamRe Given the timing of its release, and the fact that a lot of Sonic 1's staff worked in advertising before working at Sega, it's highly plausible that they could have been aware of this film and it was the direct inspiration. Pretty cool!

@SatamRe I had always assumed it was directly inspired by M.C. Esher's "Sky and Water", but given that footage actually morphs and matches more closely, I think you're right!
