My test model for my Tempestus Aquillons for my guard army. Wanted to give them a spec ops feel while still using the same general techniques and feel as the rest of the army, so no real highlights, just washes and drybrushing.

Here’s the Skaven Bombardier I painted at the Painters Weekend while testing out the new Contrast Paints. Besides the metallic base coats this guy is 100% Contrast paints over top the new off-white spray primer. Took about 2 hours? Lots of testing things out though.

Behold! My converted Mortis Engine is finally complete!. The idea was to tie it into the deadwalker theme a bit more with the horses. I also used the tree to tie into all of the roots going through the zombies.

Today, the legendary artist John Blanche who was my Art Director on Mordheim, Realm of Chaos and WFB has retired from Games Workshop. He was the last of the titans. Truly an end of an era. However, we will see more of John's genre-defining art as he can work projects of his own.

The only good ‘Nid is a dead ‘Nid!. GW kindly sent me the new Cadia Stands box early and I painted up this guy using as many quick methods as I could think of. Say hello to the Cadian 323rd, “The Roughnecks.” Tutorial coming later this week. Would you like to know more? 😉

Ok, now that I have the Contrast Medium and Grey Seer in a pot I was able to really test out the paints. This guy has no highlights except for picking out the eye and the hair a slight bit with Grey Seer cause I went to dark on accident with it. Almost every color has Medium used

Painted up the first 2 of the new Stormcast Vindictors from Dominion, courtesy of a review copy from GW (@WarComTeam). These are my own Stormhost, the Celestial Purifiers. I first used this scheme on the Steelhearts warband from Shadespire years ago.

Thank you to @WarComTeam for sending me the Kill Team Into the Dark box!. I decided to paint up one of the new Kroot & his loyal Kroot Hound & put them in a little diorama. Such great sculpts! I’ve always been a fan of the Kroot so I’m excited to see them revisited. #KillTeamITD

Finished up my Lord General for the Cadian 115th!. It’s mostly made with Lord Solar & the new Tank Commander. He's def painted to a higher standard, but I tried to tie him into the army with some drybrushing overtop & the same general recipes and techniques. Cadia stands!

I also tested out this quick and dirty Imperial Fist with the new Contrast colors @WarComTeam sent me. The armor is Imperial Fist with some of the new Casandora Yellow shade in the recesses. Weathering and sponge highlights on top. The trim is Baal Red w/ Wild Rider highlights.

Hot tip!. A favorite new technique of mine is to use Holy White Speedpaint overtop of finished skin tones to get a stubble/shaven effect really easily.

The call of Chaos is strong & @WarComTeam was kind enough to send me the new Slaves to Darkness box early, so I painted up this Chosen. Simply brutal & beautiful models. I’m calling this warband the Crimson Reavers because I used the Red Corsairs as inspiration. Tutorial soon!

I am the Lex!. @warhammer was kind enough to send me the Soulshackle box ahead of time and I managed to get this guy painted up in time for today. Such cool models! I’ll probably do a bit more with the base like some rubble and random civilian detritus.

My Deadwalker themed Mortis Engine! It still needs greenstuff work, but I think I’m done with the kitbashing part. I figured all the new Deadwalkers have roots coming out of them so some sort of corpse tree would make a better fit. The bats will count as the ghosts/banshees.

Continuing to add to my C'tan collection, I finished up this wonderful model to use as my Deceiver. I'm super happy with it. Not only do I think the sculpt is great, but I painted it using the new Warpaints Fanatic & really enjoyed blending the metallics & acrylics. So smooth.

I call her my Contrast Eternal. All just contrast with one highlight and then metals with a wash. I may highlight those later too. I’m surprisingly happy with how she turned out for a gaming piece! Would people be interested in a tutorial?

I’ve always wanted to paint this mini since he was the first real Ad Mech model (& his metal predecessor) & now I have my own to administer to my tanks! . Quite happy with how the robes turned out but still fits in nicely to the quick & dirty look of the rest of him & my army🫡⚙️

He's done! Such an iconic mini & a truly evergreen sculpt! I painted his skin in true metallics to really drive home the living metal bodies thing. I added the lightning from some endless spells and also changed it so his cloak is fading back into living metal near the ends.
