@DaveAtherton20 We would have got immediate detention the same day after school. There was also the school board person who was given a list of absent pupils and their homes visited. If any kids were seen outside during school hours they took their names and addresses. Harsh but it worked.

@bonkerssteve One of my neighbours had 2 VW campers, an original 1st model that was kept in the garage and only used for club meets and a newer one that they used. So many people tried to buy the older one but they wouldn't part with it.

It's harking back to the days when nepotism was rife in local councils. You knew who would become the next councillor if one retired or passed away, it was almost always a family member or very close relative. The lengths they're willing to go to keep control is mind boggling. If they're doing a good job then they should have no worries but we know that's not the case in a vast majority of towns.

@MDymore I'm slowly losing the will to live! It seems like crime, in all shapes and forms, really does pay. He escaped from prison twice, in prison for his acts during the troubles and yet they've been hounding soldiers to be prosecuted for doing their jobs in the same troubles. WTH!?!

@RichardIIIGhost If people have read Animal Farm I suggest they re-read it again. When you see what Napoleon, who led the rebellion against the farmer, promised the animals to what eventually happened also rings true to what is happening today. Napoleon was simply a dictator hungry for power.
