Out of surgery. Two big herniated discs and they found a big bone spur. Staying the night in the hospital. Leg pain is almost gone, but back hurts a lot. Eating dinner. Not nauseated so eating dinner.

Dad update. My dad had emergency surgery yesterday evening. He had a rupture in his intestine. He is out of it, but the infection is starting to go away. Will still be a long haul, he is hating all the tubes in him. Good thing his doc was aggressive and acted when he did.

I have been up twice. No very painful to walk and the ice pack, muscle relaxer and pain meds are working. Only have had a few leg pains and nerve shocks. Encouraged.

Dementia is an evil thing. I need to figure out patience with my dad and at the same time be there to listen to my moms concerns. I can now see how taxing this is on families. Sorry for a Debbie Downer post, but damn this is frustrating.

So I saw my doc today and saw the MRI films. I have a rare back injury. 2 massive herniated discs on top of each other pressing on two nerves and their nerve roots. This is why pain meds have not been working. Getting surgery next Wed. Then a long recovery.

Just helped a friend out who left the gym 2 mins before me. Someone hit him on his motorcycle and fled the scene. He is in bad shape. He will be in the hospital for awhile. Please if y'all ride a motorcycle wear your helmet. Plus take a First Aid and CPR class to help out.

So after taking most of the tubes out of dad he is recovering fast. He gets to go home tomorrow. In the meantime I am trying to switch from nights to day time again. This switch blows every time I do it.

Spent the morning in the ER. Got a call real early, while in the gym, my dad fell. My mom called 911 and he went to the ER. Scans were good. He has a slight concussion and 6 staples in his head. Been cleaning blood up in the house since we got home.

Doc said I was doing good. I am in my last phase of recovery. 6 - 8 weeks of PT.

Woot I can drive. Just can't drive for more than 20 min at a time. At least I can go to dinner with friends. Doc said I am healing way faster than most that have had this surgery, but warned me to maintain discipline so I don't over do it. Doc said keep it up. 😎

So I finally woke up from passing out after my procedure. Doc said I might be dizzy for next 24 hrs. I never was, until now. Got up to pee, I walk better and sway less when I am shit face drunk than I do now. Back to bed before I fall over. PS, I am still hurting. Sigh. 😢

People tell me that I cannot have a bad day because I am the one that brings them up when they are down. So I just don’t show my feelings. Well today I just wish I was not here. Wish there was an on/off switch for a few days. Sorry for being a “Debbie Downer” this Fri.

Yay! I start my 10 day vacation at 1 pm tomorrow. Going on a 7 day cruise on Sunday. Going to Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Jamaica. 😎🛳🍦🍺🍻🍷

It’s been 6 weeks since my back surgery. All is well except when sitting too long. Still stiff as hell. Hope doc says I can do Physical Therapy at my appt tomorrow.

So I achieved a goal today in the gym. I benched 135 pounds 7 times by myself, 10 reps if you count my trainer helping a little. First time lifting that much in over 2 yrs since I hurt my back. 😎💪

Well it’s day 2 after back surgery. I finally passed out last night after watching Wed night episode of Big Brother. Slept all night. Getting out of bed was absolute hell. I now understand why the doc prescribed 2 pain meds and a muscle relaxer and another

Just got my 2nd vaccination shot for COVID-19. Finally vaccinated. In a few weeks I can finally go to the gym. Haven’t been back since last Feb. 😎💪

A great day at sea. 80 degrees, nice breeze, people watching, sun burned my bald head. Plus we are going full speed back to Cozumel. There is a medical emergency on board. Glad cruise lines do this.

Went on a boat tour with my mom on the Missouri River where Lewis and Clark paddled through, Gates of the Mountain. Was amazing and no smoke from the fires burning in Montana. The second pic has drawings from 1500 yrs ago.

I had a day off today. I am so bored of doing nothing. I have been following the rules since February, but many aren't, so the state is closing back up. I will continue to follow the rules, but damn people please follow the rules so we can get back to some form of normalcy.

I rarely vent, but I need to. I don’t understand why it’s ok for others to have a bad day, but when I do people are surprised and blow it off. Do people not know that I am human too? I don’t need people telling me, “now don’t take this the wrong way....”. I need a vacation.

Workout in the gym, you feel it in the second day. Well just wanted to update y’all. I did my walking and had lunch and now back in bed with an ice pack on. Pain meds just kicked in, so nap time for me. Thanks for all the kind words.

Day after 2nd Covid shot. Arm hurts, joints hurt, exhausted and have a weird taste in my mouth, but in 2 weeks I will be fully vaccinated. I can handle this. 😎

So I had to go to the ER today. I fell last Monday and hit my head and back on the stairs. My back is ok where they did surgery last yr. My neck though has gotten progressively worse. They just did a CT of my neck because it hurts and is swollen. I hope it’s just sprained.

I am starting to get irked by people that get frustrated when you are helping them and think it’s ok to let it out on you. They get mad and say crappy things, leave all calm while I am like WTF just happened. Puts me in a shitty mood.
