What is the leading cause of chronic kidney disease in the United States? A) Hypertension B) Diabetes mellitus C) Glomerulonephritis D) Polycystic kidney disease
Very intelligible answers here considering diabetes mellitus and hypertension are sharing the tie. According to the study published by the MSD manual in August of 2023, diabetes nephropathy is the most common cause of CKD in the United States. This is followed by hypertensive nephrosclerosis. So the answer in the poll is Diabetes Mellitus as it can cause a complication of diabetes nephropathy.
