Ciro had the privilege of producing this in Japan with veteran staff from Ghibli. Probably the best example of Western and eastern philosophies harmonizing years before the pseudo animes from Burbank we see today.

For me, it's his design in the brief Ego Trip era before its revival. A solid harmony between Craig, Paul, and Genndy's design philosophies where the graphic language is brushed up, but not yet abstracted into the UPA driven blockiness notorious in the 2000s.

It just hit me that the indie scene has really set the bar high in recent years, at least from a graphical POV. No more pseudo 8 bit stuff. Just good sprites. That's assurance 2D and pixel art will never die. LETS KEEP IT UP.
