Coming out of self imposed exile to express solidarity and outrage for the horrific treatment of members of Syria's #LBGTQI+ community in recent days. #Syria is for all Syrians, and all Syrians deserve to be treated fairly and with dignity 🏳️‍🌈

Assad is gone, Syria is hopefully on the path to being rebuilt, and it is time for me to fade into obscurity. I'm going to try to make a conscious decision to get back to my writing (again) and stop doom scrolling Syrian news. But Maysaloon will return if ever needed.

@suhaib_zaino The tragedy is that houses like this can still be built easily across the country instead of the marble tile crusted concrete sh*t fests that are modern Syrian habitats. They’d be more environmentally friendly, cheaper, and easier to maintain. Not to mention a pleasure to live in

It's easy to be brave after the revolution wins. It's another sort of bravery to stand up in the middle of the Assad regime's parliament 13 years ago to accuse Atef Najib of the killings in Deraa - Syrian MP, Sheikh from Hawran and total mensch, Yousef Abu Roumieh. RIP.
